How Writing A Business Book Can Transform Your Business

Have you ever thought about writing a business book to promote your business?

As the saying goes ‘Everyone has a book in them’ so wouldn’t it make sense to write about something you are an expert at?

I never considered writing a business book myself until a few months ago. What changed my mind? I read a book by a networking colleague Gavin Meikle called ‘The Presenters Edge’ which gave great tips for presenting in front of an audience.

I had known Gavin for approximately 18 months and knew what he did and respected his work. However, reading his book, took my opinion of him to a much higher level as I got a feel for the way he works and experienced his immense amount of knowledge on the subject. As a result, I would have no hesitation in recommending his services to others and this made me really stop and think

‘WOW – If I wrote a book, so many more people would benefit and have a greater knowledge of what I do’.

Needless to say, writing a book is now in my marketing plan.

For those of you that have never really thought of writing a business book, take a moment to think again. It really can help to propel your brand awareness and establish you as an authority in your industry. It also makes a great marketing tool for your business! After all, you have a wealth of knowledge and that’s why you started your own business! So why not share that knowledge with a much larger audience and gain some great exposure at the same time?

A good business book is not about selling your service, it’s about sharing your knowledge and connecting with people who may not have heard about you before. It’s also an opportunity to build your credibility and put you in a higher league than your competitors and can be used as a platform for other products or services that you provide. The key is knowing who you are writing the book for. Who is your ideal client? What challenges are they facing and how can you help them? This is the starting point for any marketing activity and writing a business book is no different.
